Institute of Alcohol and Drug Studies
In 1999, the Summer School launched a new initiative by consolidating its various iterations into two one-week programs. The traditional Summer School of Alcohol and Drug Studies was complemented by the new Institute of Alcohol and Drug Studies directed by Gail Gleason Milgram, Ed.D. Enrollment was open to professionals and lay persons with an interest in these areas.
The Institute was part of the Education and Training Division of the Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies. The curriculum emphasized specialized courses led by highly competent and experienced instructors. It also featured a strong program of lectures and seminars to support and supplement the coursework In addition, students had access to the outstanding resources of the Center of Alcohol Studies Library, located in Brinkley and Adele Smithers Hall at that time.
